Fifty Faces Project

Fifty Faces is a 2 year project of 50 portraits that were painted from 2016 to 2018.
The paintings range in scale from 30" to 64" and consists of friends, family, acquaintances and strangers. The series began with the hope of investigating the psychology and personality of each individual through experimenting with paint application, color, gesture and light. But due to a personal experience became a project to help raise awareness for the devastating effects of the stigma on those who suffer from mental illness. One in five of these models suffer from mental illness. They could be your neighbors, co-workers and friends. Look on the journal page to view a video of their personal stories and experiences with mental illness.
